Rakaia Marie Keefe-Oates

Law Graduate, Family Defense Practice at The Bronx Defenders

Kaia Marie Keefe-Oates (she/her/hers) earned her J.D. with honors from the University of Montana Law School, where she served as president of the Montana Public Interest Law Coalition, a research assistant with the Rural Justice Initiative, and a member of the National Moot Court Team. During law school, she interned with the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Missoula and the American Bar Association Center for Children and the Law. She also worked as the 2021 Dalthorp Clerk with Crowley Fleck PLLP, representing low income clients and supporting the civil firm's pro bono programs throughout Montana, and finished law school as a Pro Bono Scholar with the Bronx Defenders Family Defense Practice. Prior to law school, Kaia worked for Feeding America developing child hunger programs in Northern Illinois. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Health from the University of Montana.
