Immigration Civil Legal Advocate at The Bronx Defenders

Sristee Acharya (she/her/hers) holds a Bachelor of Arts from UC Berkeley in Peace and Conflict Studies with an emphasis on Human Rights. Before joining The Bronx Defenders, she worked as an elementary teacher as the Race and Equity Lead and served immigrant and refugee students. She's also worked in other non-profit organizations like Karuna Foundation, which works on addressing disability rights in rural Nepal. Originally from Nepal, her personal experiences navigating the immigration system have informed her desire to work on human rights and immigration issues, helping refugees and asylum seekers.
