Brooklyn Cyclones
Max Colten has a diverse work history in the sports industry. Max began their career in 2009 with the Brooklyn Cyclones, where they worked on the stadium operations and grounds crew. In this role, they were responsible for maintaining the playing field and ensuring the cleanliness of the grandstands, dugout tunnels, and clubhouses. Max also supported the head groundskeeper during various events and helped set up for batting practice and concerts.
In 2010, Max joined St. John's University as a baseball student manager. In this position, they assisted with daily practice set up and clean up duties, and even participated in practice by throwing batting practice and hitting ground balls.
Max then moved on to various roles within the professional sports industry. Max served as the clubhouse manager for the Brooklyn Cyclones in 2013, the head clubhouse manager for the Savannah Sand Gnats in 2014, and the head equipment manager for the Brooklyn Bolts Professional Football Club from 2014 to 2016. In these roles, they oversaw various aspects of clubhouse and equipment management, including laundry services and cleanliness maintenance.
Most recently, Max was the visiting clubhouse manager for the Binghamton Mets in 2015 and the head clubhouse manager and groundskeeper for the Brooklyn Cyclones starting in 2016. In their current position, they are responsible for preparing and maintaining the clay and turf surfaces for events, as well as cleaning the surrounding areas of the ballpark.
Throughout their career, Max has developed a strong foundation in sports management and facility operations, with their roles spanning from equipment management to clubhouses and groundskeeping.
Max Colten attended Oceanside High School from 2005 to 2009, completing their high school education. Max later enrolled at St. John's University from 2009 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management and Business Administration.
Brooklyn Cyclones
The Brooklyn Cyclones are the High-A Affiliate of the New York Mets, and 2019 New York Penn League Champions. Maimonides Park is located on historic Coney Island, just a few blocks from the Stillwell Ave. Subway and just two blocks from the Original Nathan's. Since opening in 2001, the ballpark has welcomed over 3.3 million fans- the most any team in all of short-season baseball. Maimonides Park was named the "Most Fun" minor league ballpark in the nation by Fox News. Maimonides Park was also ranked #1 among all stadiums in New York City by Stadium Journey Magazine. The Cyclones have led the New York-Penn League in attendance every season while ranking in the Top 20 in average attendance nationally. Maimonides Park is a great place for families as evidenced by attendance in 2012. It is also a great place for companies to host their corporate outings and entertain clients in our hospitality areas.
