Pratibha Vemulapalli is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and serves as the Chairman of Surgery at The Brooklyn Hospital Center, with a focus on minimally invasive surgery, multidisciplinary obesity management, and the recruitment and mentoring of surgeons. Vemulapalli has extensive experience in operational and regulatory leadership within surgical settings, having previously directed perioperative services and bariatric surgery at Montefiore Health System, leading initiatives that resulted in increased surgical volumes and the achievement of Center of Excellence status. Education includes an Executive MBA from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management, an MD from Thomas Jefferson University, and a BS from Penn State University.
