Shona Godwin

Shona Godwin is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in infrastructure and corporate law. Currently serving as Senior Legal Counsel at the Canada Infrastructure Bank since January 2019, Shona provides legal support across various functions, including developing a regulatory compliance program. From September 2019 to October 2023, Shona led the Legal and Environmental team for HFR - TGF Inc., overseeing legal matters for the Transport Canada's High Frequency Rail project. Prior to that, Shona held the position of Senior Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary at BDC, focusing on corporate governance and regulatory compliance. Additionally, Shona worked as Legal Counsel at CN, advising on complex compliance programs, and served as Vice-President and Chief Counsel at France Telecom's international subsidiary, Equant N.V. Shona's career began at Société International de Télécommunications Aéronautiques where legal counsel was provided for telecommunications services to airlines. Shona holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in International Relations from McGill University.
