Brian Hensley

Chief Operating Officer at The Canton Group

Brian Hensley is currently the Chief Operating Officer at The Canton Group. Prior to this, they were the Director of IT (Head of IT) at TIC Gums from April 2015 to November 2018. In this role, they were responsible for directing and setting the strategy for all IT functions which includes Application Development, Infrastructure/Networking, Systems Administration, and Help Desk Support. Brian also created a 5 year Road Map for the IT department using the Six Sigma Prioritization Matrix and led the redeployment of a new WAN at all US locations.

In addition, Brian led the implementation of a cloud migration strategy, including the implementation of Disaster Recovery. This project had several goals including refreshing the entire infrastructure stack that supports all business applications, re-architecting each application and virtual server to support a low risk migration, having a disaster recovery plan and solution available for all critical systems, leveraging managed services to help ensure stability of system maintenance and support, and the scalability/flexibility of the environment to allow for continued growth. Brian also moved the IT organization toward an ITIL based model for Help Desk and IT support activities. Doing so allowed him to set KPIs and CSFs as goals and provided data to measure the success of the department.

Brian Hensley has a MBA in MIS from University of Baltimore, a BS in Communications from Towson University, and is certified from Scrum Alliance in Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) and Certified ScrumMaster (CSM). Brian is also certified from ASQ - World Headquarters in Lean 6 Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB) and from EC-Council in Certified Ethical Hacker.

Brian Hensley reports to Ethan Kazi, CEO. They work with Elena Bozylinski - Program Lead, Stephanie Yates - Director of Elections Programs, and Justin Taylor - Technical Program Lead.
