Melanie Daly-Stormer began her career in the field of community corrections in Macon County, Illinois, after receiving her bachelor’s degree in social work from Southern Illinois University in 1996. She has worked in every facet of community corrections in the state of Illinois. While serving as a juvenile probation officer, she implemented a high-risk youth program that included the delivery of the first cognitive-behavioral intervention in downstate Illinois. She went on to work in managerial positions, including serving as an adult probation field unit supervisor, a clinical resources supervisor, and a chief managing officer. She was instrumental in the implementation of evidence-based practices in each of these positions.
