Mariel Cooksey

Mariel Cooksey is a dedicated professional with experience in strategic partnerships, advocacy, and research within various organizations. Currently serving as the Strategic Partnerships Associate at the Center for Victims of Torture since February 2023, Mariel also acts as the Executive Director for the Canadian Institute for Far-Right Studies. Previous roles include Advancement Coordinator at The Jewish Graduate Student Initiative from January 2022 to March 2023, Policy Analyst at Quadra Village Community Centre, and Research Assistant at the Foundation for Inclusion. Mariel's internship experiences include positions at the Anti-Defamation League, the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism, and the University of Virginia's Democracy Initiative. Mariel holds a Master of Arts in Religion, Politics, and Conflict from the University of Virginia, a Bachelor's Degree in Religion/Religious Studies from The University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Arts Honours from Queen's University.
