Carter Johns

Carter Johns is a seasoned communications professional currently serving as a Communications Strategist and Executive Writer at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia since August 2023. In this role, Carter provides strategic communications counsel to key executives, develops various written communications, and identifies opportunities for executive leadership engagement with partners. Prior to joining CHOP, Carter held various positions at the University of Pennsylvania from 2003 to 2023, advancing from an Administrative Assistant to Senior Writer, where responsibilities included crisis communications during the COVID-19 pandemic and producing comprehensive stewardship communications. Previous experience also includes editorial roles at Springer Nature and The Pennsylvania Gazette, along with a foundational role in the University of Pennsylvania Center for Technology Transfer. Carter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing from the University of Pennsylvania.
