Gordon Tanner is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in various roles within the legal field. Currently serving as a Consulting Counsel Service Missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since January 2019, Tanner provides legal consultation for the Office of General Counsel. Prior to this position, Tanner coordinated legal work across 23 countries in the South Pacific, including Australia and New Zealand, as Area Legal Counsel. Tanner's background includes co-founding LawPoint365, which developed legal management software, and spending over three decades as a Partner at Stoel Rives LLP. Tanner's legal career began with a Law Clerk position at Ivins, Phillips & Barker and as a Legislative Assistant for the United States Senate. Tanner holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School and a summa cum laude Bachelor of Science in Economics from Brigham Young University.
