Christopher Sullivan

Christopher Sullivan has extensive experience in fire and emergency services, currently serving as a Lieutenant for the City of Burlington, Vermont, since December 2002, overseeing fire suppression, emergency medical, and technical rescue activities. Previous roles include Senior Firefighter, where responsibilities included training probationary firefighters and assuming command during emergencies, and Firefighter/EMT. Additionally, Christopher is a Rescue Specialist with the State of Vermont Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 1 since July 2016. Involvement with the Burlington Fire Fighters Association as a Shift Steward and as a Specialist Instructor for the Vermont Fire Academy further demonstrates commitment to professional development and training within the fire service. Earlier experience includes serving as an Emergency Communications Technician for the Town of Shelburne. Christopher is currently pursuing education at Columbia Southern University, following studies at the University of Maryland and Frederick Community College.

Burlington is the largest city in the State of Vermont with a population of nearly 40,000. The city covers 15.5 square miles on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain. There are four colleges in the city including the University of Vermont, (UVM). The University is located overlooking the city on a 451-acre campus which includes undergraduate, graduate, and medical schools. In addition there are two colleges within the city: Champlain College which occupies more than 40 buildings on over 22 acres, as well as Burlington College, which is smaller in size.
