Julia Ursaki, PE, has a strong background in civil engineering and transportation planning. Currently serving as a Public Works Transportation Engineer for the City of Burlington, Vermont since May 2022, Julia has previously held roles as a Transportation Planner and Engineer at DuBois & King, Inc., and as a Civil Engineer for the State of Vermont. An internship with the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission and a role as a Barrett Scholar at the UVM Transportation Research Center involved significant research on the equity of bikesharing systems, which was presented at the Transportation Research Board conference. Julia also played a leadership role as Vice President of Engineers Without Borders USA and gained early experience through internships, including one at Buck & Buck Engineers. Julia graduated from the University of Vermont in 2016 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering.

Burlington is the largest city in the State of Vermont with a population of nearly 40,000. The city covers 15.5 square miles on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain. There are four colleges in the city including the University of Vermont, (UVM). The University is located overlooking the city on a 451-acre campus which includes undergraduate, graduate, and medical schools. In addition there are two colleges within the city: Champlain College which occupies more than 40 buildings on over 22 acres, as well as Burlington College, which is smaller in size.
