Kristy Bansemer

Kristy Bansemer has a diverse work experience in the field of communications. Kristy has worked as the Communications Director for the City of Derby since January 2016, where they are responsible for various tasks including creating newsletters and brochures, managing the city website, planning special events, and handling internal PR. Prior to this role, they worked as the Public Information Officer for the City of Derby from September 2007 to December 2015.

Before joining the City of Derby, Kristy worked at the University of Oklahoma as an Intern, where they served as the primary media relations contact for various sports teams and worked at home football and basketball games. Kristy also assisted with the men's gymnastics national championships.

Earlier in their career, Kristy worked as a Graduate Assistant at Wichita State University, where they were the primary media relations contact for cross country and also worked at other sporting events. Kristy assisted with game day programs, writing feature stories on athletes and updating rosters.

Kristy Bansemer's education history begins with their high school education at Wichita Heights High School, where they attended from 1992 to 1996. Kristy then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in English at Emporia State University from 1996 to 2000. Following their undergraduate studies, they furthered their education at Wichita State University, where they obtained a Master's of Education degree in Sports Management from 2000 to 2002.
