Robert Skene

Robert Skene has a strong background in facilities management and strategic planning in the public sector. Robert has held various management roles in different organizations, including the City of North Vancouver and the City of Vancouver. At the City of North Vancouver, they served as the Deputy Director of Strategic and Corporate Services and Director of Community and Partner Engagement. In these positions, they contributed to the strategic direction and overall management of the City, developed positive relationships with stakeholders, and managed facilities and real estate projects, including energy retrofit projects. Prior to their work with the City of North Vancouver, they worked at the City of Vancouver as the Manager of Facilities Planning, where they oversaw facility planning and development, space allocation, and office accommodation strategies. Robert also has experience in architectural practice, working at firms such as The Colborne Architectural Group, False Creek Design Group, and Number TEN Architectural Group, where they gained expertise in design, project management, and client relations.

Robert Skene has a Master of Architecture (MArch) degree from the University of Manitoba, which they completed in 1999. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Theatre/Theater from The University of Winnipeg in 1990. Additionally, they studied Technical Theatre/Theatre Design and Technology at École nationale de théâtre du Canada / National Theatre School of Canada until 1987.
