James Chandler currently serves as General Counsel for The Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County since December 2024, and concurrently holds the position of Adjunct Professor at Loyola University Chicago since August 2016. Previously, James held the role of Chief of the Special Litigation Division at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office from August 2017 to November 2024. James’s extensive legal career includes serving as Deputy Chief in the General Law Bureau at the Illinois Attorney General's Office from October 2010 to July 2017. Additional academic involvement includes coaching the Thomas Tang Moot Court Team at Loyola University Chicago School of Law and teaching appellate advocacy. Previously held litigation roles at firms such as Menges & Molzahn, Cervantes & Cioffi LLP, Worker, Sitko & Hoffman, and Meade, Engelberg & Associates encompass significant courtroom experience and trial management. James earned a Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Florida State University.
