Melissa Joiner

Philanthropic Services Coordinator at The Cleveland Foundation

Melissa Joiner joined the Cleveland Foundation in December 2022 as a Philanthropic Services Coordinator, providing high level administration of donors and fund services by collaborating with the Philanthropic Services team. Following almost thirty years of service, Melissa retired in 2021 from Medical Mutual of Ohio as a Wellness Program Manager. It was during her work at MMO that she began volunteering in various Greater Cleveland organizations and serving as Community Outreach Lead and Co-Chair of the Mature Professionals Business Resource Group.

Following a year of retirement in 2021, Melissa decided to re-enter the workforce and devote the remainder of her work years to the non-profit sector and supporting community outreach programs. In 2022 she was the Office Manager in Development at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, quickly developing her skills in Advancement and stewardship.

Melissa enjoys meeting people and connecting with community organizations and has volunteered with several including Greater Cleveland Food Bank Day of Giving, College Now mentor program, and fundraising with Harvest for Hunger.

Melissa earned a BS in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach Certificate from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
