David Smith

David Smith has a range of experience in financial leadership and management roles. David is currently the CFO at The Club Company since September 2021. Prior to that, they served as a Non-Executive Director at Farnham Golf Club Ltd starting in September 2018.

From 2013 to 2021, David worked at Merlin Entertainments where they held various positions, including Senior Finance Director - Capital Projects, Pension Fund Trustee, Finance Director - Strategic Planning and Projects, Group Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting (FPAR) Director, and Group Risk and Audit Director. In these roles, they were responsible for financial leadership on capital projects, investment partnerships, and developing new visitor attractions across different regions.

Before joining Merlin Entertainments, David served as the Divisional Director at Chessington World of Adventures from 2009 to 2013. David oversaw the operational and financial aspects of one of the UK's largest theme park and hotel resorts, achieving significant EBITDA growth and high guest satisfaction ratings.

David's earlier career included roles as Finance Director at Alton Towers Resort Operations Ltd., Group Commercial Analyst at The Tussauds Group, Group Financial Accountant at Whitbread, and Senior Auditor at KPMG.
