Head Of Financial Strategy at The Co-operative Bank

John R. has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. John began their career as a Senior Associate at EY in 2006 and worked there until 2010. Following that, they worked as an Industry Lecturer at the Technological Institute of the Philippines from 2009 to 2010. In 2010, they joined SM Retail as a Senior Accounting Manager and worked there until 2012. John then moved on to the Christchurch City Council, where they worked as a Financial & Treasury Accountant from 2012 to 2015. John R. then joined the New Zealand Racing Board, where they held two roles, starting as a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant from 2015 to 2017 and later becoming the Head of Financial Reporting & Operations (Secondment) from 2017 to 2019. From 2019 to 2022, they worked at TAB NZ, initially as the Head of Financial Reporting & Operations (Secondment) and later as the Head of Finance Shared Services. John currently serves as the Head of Financial Strategy at The Co-operative Bank since 2022.

John R. completed their education in a chronological order. John first attended Our Lady of Guadalupe M.S. from 1998 to 2001, where they studied Classical Ecclesiastical Courses and obtained a degree in Ecclesiastical Formation. From 2001 to 2005, they attended the Technological Institute of the Philippines and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy, specializing in Accountancy & Business Finance. In 2016, they enrolled in CPA Australia and obtained their Associate Certified Practising Accountant (Assoc. CPA) certification. Currently, they are pursuing further education at CPA Australia, with an expected completion in 2021. Additionally, John R. has obtained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the Philippine Professional Regulation Commission in 2006 and is working towards obtaining the Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) certification from CPA Australia in 2023.
