Karen M. Brewer

Prior to joining The Cohen Group, Karen Brewer served as the Executive Director of National Association of Urban Bankers (NAUB), the country's largest professional association serving minorities in the financial services industry. Ms. Brewer's responsibilities included implementing policies and programs, marketing and communication, fundraising, membership recruitment, fostering corporate relationships, and managing administrative processes. Ms. Brewer previously worked for Owens Corning in Washington, DC where she was involved extensively in legislative initiatives, including the preparation of company executives for congressional visits and the drafting of written statements for congressional hearings.

Ms. Brewer has broad experience in the banking industry and has served in various capacities with the National Bankers Association, where she was assistant editor and designer of the NBA Today Magazine and the monthly newsletter, The NBA Monitor. She has held several management positions at Washington Federal Savings Bank and Citizens Bank of Maryland. Ms. Brewer is a native of Greenville, South Carolina, where she earned a degree in Business Administration. She is currently pursuing an MBA from Heriot Watt University.
