David Whitcomb

Senior Director Math Assessment at The College Board

David Whitcomb has a strong work experience in education and assessment. David started their career as a Library Supervisor at Drew University in 2002 and later worked as a Customer Service representative at Lucky Brand Jeans. In 2006, they became a High School Mathematics Teacher at the New York City Board of Education. David then joined the College Board in 2012 as an Associate Director for Math Curriculum and Standards. In 2015, they became the Director of Math Assessment Design and Development, where they managed a team of content developers and developed item development plans for standardized tests. Currently, they are the Senior Director of Math Assessment at the College Board, where they manage a team and oversees the item development process for the SAT, PSAT, and PSAT8/9 exams.

David Whitcomb holds a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Educational Assessment, Testing, and Measurement from Teachers College, Columbia University. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Math Education from Brooklyn College. David completed their undergraduate studies at Drew University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Mathematics.
