Stacey Foney

Director, Counselor Community Engagement Team at The College Board

Stacey Foney has extensive work experience in counseling and education. Stacey started their career as a counselor at Clarkston High School in 1997 and later became the Head Counselor. Stacey then served as the CEO/Founder of The Promise Foundation from 2003 to 2004. From 2004 to 2005, they worked as an 11 Month Counselor at Riverdale High School. Stacey continued their career at Tucker High School, where they worked as the Head Counselor from 2005 to 2011. Stacey then joined Ivy Preparatory Academy as the Director of Guidance and High School Programs, and later became the Network Director of High School Programs. Stacey worked at Ivy Preparatory Academy from 2011 to 2016. Their next role was as a Professional School Counselor at Fulton County Schools from 2016 to 2018. Stacey is currently working at The College Board as the Director of the Counselor Community Engagement team.

Stacey Foney holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology modified with History from Dartmouth College, which they obtained from 1988 to 1992. Stacey then pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services at UGA Mary Frances Early College of Education from 1995 to 1997. In 2007 to 2009, they earned an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from the University of West Georgia. Stacey also has additional certifications in Educational Leadership and School Counseling from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, but the specific dates of obtaining these certifications are not provided.
