Mitch Sams

Mitch Sams has extensive experience in IT project and portfolio management, currently serving as an IT Portfolio Manager and IT Project Manager for the Commonwealth of Virginia since November 2011. Prior to this role, Mitch was a Project Manager at EDPS, managing multiple IT projects and working closely with end users to define requirements and manage scope. Mitch's earlier experience includes positions at Circuit City, A. T. Massey Coal Company, Infilco Degremont, Inc., Gold Medal, Inc., Little Oil Company, and Crawford Manufacturing Company, covering roles from Data Processing Manager to Programmer/Analyst. Mitch's career spans over three decades, beginning with a Lead Computer Operator position, and includes significant accomplishments in systems installation, user training, and technology implementation. Education includes studies at J. Sargeant Reynolds and Virginia Commonwealth University.
