Julie Yandt has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Julie started their career as a Partner in a retail gift basket business called Basket Express, where they assisted in achieving significant growth and served a client base of individual and corporate accounts. Following that, they worked as an HR Administrator/Recruiter at GE Energy, where they were responsible for recruitment and onboarding processes, as well as team training for health and safety, performance appraisals, and other HR initiatives. Julie then transitioned to The Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group, initially working as an HR Coordinator, where they provided support in various HR functions such as recruitment, orientation, benefits, training and development, employee relations, and compensation administration. Julie then moved on to become a Senior HR Generalist, followed by a Human Resources Manager. In these positions, they provided strategic and tactical HR direction, advice, and support, collaborated with leaders to implement HR strategies, and oversaw HR and administrative teams across three locations within the organization. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Human Resources at The Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group, where they champion the organizational culture and provides direction in HR initiatives aligned with the company's strategic priorities.

Julie Yandt has a diverse education history. Julie obtained their Bachelor of Human Resources & Labour Relations degree from Athabasca University, where they studied from 2009 to 2014. Prior to that, they attended Fleming College from 2006 to 2008, focusing on Human Resources Management.

To enhance their skills and knowledge, Julie completed Executive Development Programs from Queen's University's Smith School of Business from 2015 to 2017. Additionally, they attended IPM Management Training & Development in 2011 and 2012, earning a designation as a Registered Professional Trainer.

In terms of certifications, Julie obtained a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification from the Six Sigma Global Institute in September 2020. Julie also holds the designation of Certified Talent Management Professional from the Canadian HR Academy, which they obtained in December 2019. Furthermore, they completed Train The Trainer- Change Management Courses and earned the Certified in Change Management credential from Prosci in April 2017 and June 2016, respectively.
