Lauren Pollak

Lauren Pollak serves as an Associate Professor of English at the Community College of Baltimore County since May 2013, where instruction focuses on accelerated and developmental learning, integrated reading and writing, as well as critical thinking and analysis. Lauren's expertise extends to a partnership program with Woodlawn High School aimed at helping students achieve both their Associate's degree and high school diploma. As a freelance copyeditor since September 2015, Lauren provides editorial services for various texts, and has also been a private music instructor since June 2004, offering tailored lessons in piano, guitar, voice, and music theory. Prior experience includes a role as Training and Design Specialist at Laureate Higher Education Group, where Lauren led instructional design initiatives and training programs. Academically, Lauren is pursuing a PhD in Language, Literacy, and Culture at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, with previous degrees including an MFA in Creative Writing and Publishing and a BS in Music Performance from Towson University.
