Prior to this role, they were the Deputy Chief Of Party for the USDA FFPr Safe Agriculture/Food Export project, overseeing a matching grants program and ensuring compliance with donor regulations. Marcus also has experience as a Senior Finance Director and Program Manager in the same project, demonstrating their expertise in financial management and program coordination. Additionally, they have worked at organizations like Save the Children, Partners of the Americas, and the International Rescue Committee, gaining valuable experience across different sectors. Marcus has a strong background in international development, specifically in cooperative development, disaster risk reduction, and environmental education. Marcus Laws completed their Master's Degree in Sustainable Development, International Policy and Management at the School for International Training in 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Spanish from the School of International Studies - University of the Pacific in the years 2000-2004. In addition to their formal education, Marcus also obtained several certifications in various fields, including project management and regulations related to development work.
