Heather Katz is a versatile musician and educator with extensive experience in the arts and non-profit sectors. Since January 2015, Heather has been a freelance chamber musician collaborating with various string quartets and ensembles, performing works by notable composers such as Britten, Riley, and Beethoven. In addition to performing, Heather has served as an instructor of glass flameworking at The Crucible since 2007, where a passion for the craft is shared with students of all ages. Heather also holds a longstanding position on the Board of Directors for Berkeley Chamber Performances, contributing as a former Secretary to this small music presenting organization since 1992. As the concertmaster of the Redwood Symphony since 1986, Heather plays a key role in one of the Bay Area's premier volunteer orchestras. Prior to these roles, Heather managed Installation Services at Innovative Interfaces from 1995 to 2015, overseeing teams responsible for system installations. Heather holds a BA in Music from Mills College and has pursued education at several other institutions.
