The Crucible
Lauren Ekman has over two decades of experience in education and the arts, currently serving as a Glass Flameworking Teacher, Development Associate, and Executive Assistant at The Crucible since 2011, while also working as a glass artist at Redredmelt since 2000. Prior professional roles include Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction at Sonoma Valley Unified School District, Principal at Dunbar Elementary School, and various positions at San Lorenzo USD, including Assistant Principal and Vice Principal. Lauren's expertise encompasses curriculum development, staff training, student assessment, and the implementation of specialized programs, with a strong focus on visual and performing arts, bilingual education, and data-driven action plans that enhance academic achievement. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Saint Mary's College of California and a Bachelor of Arts from UC Santa Barbara.

The Crucible is a nonprofit educational facility that fosters a collaboration of Arts, Industry and Community. Through training in the fine and industrial arts, The Crucible promotes creative expression, reuse of materials, and innovative design while serving as an accessible arts venue for the general public.
