The Crucible
Nate Chandler is an experienced educator and engineer with a diverse background in design, technology, and art. Currently serving as Kinetics Faculty and Kinetics Department Head at The Crucible since 2016, Nate specializes in teaching micro-controller programming and electromechanics to various age groups. In parallel, Nate contributes to Precious Plastic as an Engineer, focusing on ocean plastic research and the extrusion machine. Operating n8c, an art and fabrication studio, Nate explores the intersection of kinetic and electronic art. Previously, Nate held roles such as Hardware Specialist at URBAN ORE INC, where efforts emphasized waste reduction, and managed the graphic design studio at California College of the Arts, following a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the institution. Additional design internships provided foundational experience in creative processes and project execution.
The Crucible
The Crucible is a nonprofit educational facility that fosters a collaboration of Arts, Industry and Community. Through training in the fine and industrial arts, The Crucible promotes creative expression, reuse of materials, and innovative design while serving as an accessible arts venue for the general public.
