Susan Bean is an accomplished culinary professional with a diverse range of experience in food preparation and nutrition education. Currently serving as an R&D Chef at The Culinary Edge since April 2023, Susan previously held roles such as a Line Cook at Octavia and a School Meal Specialist with the Oakland Unified School District, where significant contributions were made to food distribution and farm-to-table initiatives during the pandemic. With a background as a FoodCorps Service Member, Susan promoted healthy eating habits by teaching over 1,000 elementary students about nutrition and gardening. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in International/Global Studies with a focus on French from UCLA and a Culinary Arts certificate from the San Francisco Cooking School.
