Derek B.

Derek B. has extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity and threat intelligence. Derek currently serves as the Head of Threat Intelligence at The Cyber Helpline, starting in April 2023. Prior to this, Derek held the position of Global Operational Intelligence Team Lead at Vodafone, starting in April 2022. Derek also worked as a Strategical Threat Advisor EMEA at CrowdStrike from September 2020 to April 2022, and as a Cyber Threat Intelligence Lead at Mimecast from July 2018 to September 2020. Derek's career history also includes roles as a Security Operations & Incident Response Analyst at Hargreaves Lansdown from September 2017 to July 2018, and in the Research and Investigations division of the Metropolitan Police, specifically in the SO15 National Digital Exploitation Service (NDES), from February 2001 to September 2017.

Derek B. completed an MSc in Forensic Computing and Cybercrime Investigation at University College Dublin from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a Leisure and Tourism GNVQ degree from the University of Wolverhampton in 1995-1996. In addition to their degrees, they have also obtained a certification in Top ATT&CK Techniques from AttackIQ in 2022.
