The Daily Orange
Kendall Luther is a Senior Staff Writer and News Editor at The Daily Orange, where responsibilities include managing an 8-person news staff, editing multiple stories nightly, and overseeing the publication of around 20 stories each week. Reporting on university and city affairs, political campaigns, and protests, Kendall ensures the delivery of ethical news to a print circulation of 6,000. Additional experience includes roles as a Writing Intern at University Girl Magazine, Guest Advocate at Target, Engagement Coordinator for First Year Players, and various editorial positions at University Union and XPress Student Newspaper. Kendall pursues a Bachelor of Science degree in Magazine, News, and Digital Journalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, along with minors in Business and Political Science. Previous education includes degrees from Xavier College Preparatory and Notre Dame Preparatory.
The Daily Orange
The Daily Orange, the independent campus newspaper of Syracuse University, publishes approximately 113 issues during the average academic year with a circulation of 9,000 copies and a readership of 20,000. The paper is published Monday through Thursday when school is in session and Fridays before home football games and select basketball games. The paper is distributed free to more than 100 locations on and around the SU campus, including Armory Square, South Side, Hanover, City Courts, Westcott and Nottingham business areas. The editorial content of the paper, which originated in 1903 and went independent in 1971, is entirely student-run.
