Samad Rangoonwala

Samad Rangoonwala is a dedicated professional currently serving as a Transportation Planning Intern at the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization, where responsibilities include leading SPOT 7 prioritization work, updating the ETIP database, and engaging in the development of various transportation plans using ARC GIS. Additionally, Samad is a Research Analyst at Carolina Forward, focusing on policy content regarding political issues, and a Columnist for The Daily Tar Heel, writing on urban planning and environmental topics. Previous experience includes a Planning Intern role at Bike Durham, where research on transportation equity was conducted, as well as various positions in communications and program coordination at America Votes, YMCA of Greater Charlotte, and other organizations. Samad is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy Analysis, Data Science, and Philosophy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
