Lee Kappes

Lee Kappes is the Chief Executive Officer of The Danielson Group, where responsibilities include overseeing strategy, growth, and operations while leveraging 18 years of classroom teaching experience. Previous roles at The Danielson Group include Managing Director of Growth, Impact, and Strategy, and Director of Learning Strategies, focusing on programmatic direction and partnership development. Prior to this, Kappes served as Assistant Director at The Aspen Institute's Education & Society Program, contributing to educational improvement initiatives. At Portland Public Schools, Kappes held the position of Chief Teaching and Learning Leader, supervising educators to enhance student achievement. Kappes co-founded Reach Associates LLC, leading efforts to support instructional improvement across various educational contexts. The early career began as an educator in Ridgewood Public Schools, undertaking several roles that promoted teacher and student success.
