Ethan Chen

Ethan Chen is an accomplished financial professional with extensive experience in audit and financial reporting. Currently serving as the Assistant Director of Financial Reporting and Treasury at the Australian Department of Health since December 2018, Ethan manages one of the largest administered portfolios within the Commonwealth Government. Prior to this role, Ethan held positions at the Australian National Audit Office as an Audit Manager and Team Leader, overseeing a portfolio of over 15 audit engagements, and at EY and Crowe Horwath Australia, where significant work was conducted for various sectors, including federal government entities and not-for-profits. Ethan's early career includes experience as an Intermediate Auditor at KPMG, specializing in financial statement audits and assurance engagements across multiple GAAP standards. Ethan holds a Master of Commerce in Professional Accounting from UNSW and dual Bachelor's degrees in Business Administration from Victoria University and Beijing Jiaotong University.
