John Boyd is an experienced executive with a distinguished career in biometrics, identity management, and defense. Currently serving as the Assistant Director of the Office of Biometric Identity Management at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Boyd directs the exploration of future biometric capabilities for the department. Previous roles include leadership positions at ECS Federal, The Patuxent Partnership, the Department of Defense, and various capacities within the U.S. Navy, where Boyd commanded units and managed significant defense biometric and forensic initiatives. Boyd holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College and a Master of Science in Operations Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School, supplemented by an Executive Certificate in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School.
