Dave Wetle

VP Engineering and Development at The Detection Group

Dave Wetle has over 20 years of experience in engineering and development. Dave began their career in 1998 as the VP of Hardware Engineering and VP of Electrical Engineering at DSL Communications and Empowertel Networks, where they co-launched the company and completed development, integration, and shipment of a flexible VoIP gateway product. In 2001, they joined Nayna Networks as the VP of Engineering R&D and helped change the direction to enterprise networking. Dave then moved on to Hammerhead Systems in 2002 as the Hardware Director and Interim System Test Director, and was responsible for the hardware/mechanical design of a NEBs certified Layer 2.5 switch. In 2005, Dave joined Soma Networks as the VP of Hardware Engineering and was tasked with assessing plans to complete radios and establishing release cadence for subsequent 700MHz and WiMAX radios. In 2010, they joined Luxim Corporation as the VP of Engineering & Technology and was tasked with stabilizing and productizing the current product on an accelerated timeframe and creating and launching product plans for new market verticals. In 2015, Dave became the Founder, VP Systems Engineering & Development Engineering at Store Intelligence | Altierre, where they were recruited to build project plans and lead development. Most recently, in 2021, Dave became the VP Engineering and Development at The Detection Group, a subsidiary of Watts, where they are responsible for providing a cloud-based, wireless technology for monitoring and alerting multi-story commercial and multi-family residential properties for water leaks and other potential threats to the smooth operation of a building.

Dave Wetle received a Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State University.
