George Hunter

George Hunter has extensive experience in journalism with a focus on crime reporting, business, and sports. Beginning a career as a sportswriter at Dearborn Press & Guide from 1982 to 1985 and continuing at Dearborn Times-Herald until 1995, Hunter has built a strong foundation in writing. At The Detroit News since 1995, coverage has included business topics such as small and minority businesses, alongside crime reporting. Hunter is also an accomplished author, publishing true-crime books including “Limb from Limb” and “The Sadist, the Hitman and the Murder of Jane Bashara,” and has contributed to “Detroit Tigers Gone Wild: Mischief, Crimes and Hard Time.” Additionally, Hunter serves as a writer, producer, and narrator for the Sins of Detroit true crime podcast.
