Grant S.

Grant S. is a Washington Correspondent for The Detroit News, beginning in January 2024. Prior experience includes serving as a Data Analyst at the Redistricting Data Hub, where responsibilities focused on analyzing nationwide election results for fair redistricting and providing trainings. Grant S. has also worked as a Data & Graphics Intern at POLITICO, creating visual data-driven articles. Previous roles include Reporter and Graduate Student at Northwestern University Medill School, and Fiscal Analyst II for the North Carolina General Assembly, where Grant S. engaged with budget and policy issues. Additional experience includes a Graduate Teaching Assistantship at the University of Virginia, internships with the Blue Trunk Foundation and Local Food Hub, and leadership roles within the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity and Greens to Grounds organization. Educational qualifications comprise a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University, a Master of Public Policy from the University of Virginia, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Global Development Studies from the University of Virginia.
