Strategic Consulting at The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund

Emma Impink has a varied work experience ranging from farming to strategic consulting. Emma is currently the Director of Strategy and Integration at Legado, where they co-create sustainable solutions for education, human health, livelihoods, governance, culture, and environmental health. Prior to that, they worked as a Strategic Consultant with Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. Their most significant role was as the Programs Manager with Southern Tanzania Elephant Program, where they designed and managed innovative solutions to human-elephant conflict in critical protected areas. Emma has also worked with One Acre Fund, where they held different roles such as Program Manager, Impact Director, and Strategic Impact Consultant. Emma has also worked as a Fellow at The BOMA Project, assisting nomadic communities in northern Kenya. Emma's early work experience includes roles such as an ice cream prep cook/server at the bent spoon, and as a Writing Fellow at Barnard College Writing Center. Emma has also worked as a Research Assistant/Editor for Professor Severine Autesserre at Barnard College and as a Farm Hand at Gravity Hill Farm.

Emma Impink attended Barnard College from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in African Studies and Biological Sciences. In 2009, Emma spent a semester at the School For Field Studies where they studied Wildlife Management and Human-Wildlife Conflict. No degree was specified for their time spent at the School For Field Studies.
