Laura Johnson

Laura Johnson is an experienced cybersecurity professional with a diverse background in management, engineering, and training. Currently serving as a SOC Goon and SOC Floor Training Director at DEF CON, Laura has developed training content and enhanced onboarding processes. With a role as Government Cybersecurity Manager at Fortress Information Security, Laura led compliance efforts for classified initiatives and oversaw audits to improve security posture. Previous positions include Senior Security Engineer at The George Washington University, Managing Security Engineer at GuidePoint Security, and Cyber Security Engineer at NuWave Solutions, showcasing a strong emphasis on technical leadership and project management. Additionally, Laura is active in volunteer roles, including mentoring and student sponsorships with The Diana Initiative. Laura holds an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics Technology from Cochise College.
