Crisis Text Line
Maya Hayun is a dedicated research and volunteer professional with extensive experience in healthcare and education. As a Research Assistant at Children's Hospital Los Angeles since August 2020, Maya focuses on analyzing data related to COVID-19 and its impact on beta cell health. In addition, Maya contributes as a Volunteer Staff member with Spanglish Volunteers, enhancing English language skills for Peruvian children, and serves as a crisis counselor for Crisis Text Line, providing remote support to individuals in crisis. Since July 2018, Maya has interned at Sheba Tel HaShomer City of Health, assisting oncology patients and supporting pharmaceutical staff, while also volunteering in a private practice to shadow a pediatric oncologist. Maya holds a Bachelor of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention from the University of Southern California and completed secondary education at de Toledo High School.
