Ken Morckel

SVP, Public Safety Services at The Digital Decision

Colonel Kenneth L. Morckel (ret.) served nearly 29 years in the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) and was named the 13th Superintendent of the OSHP in 2000. Col. Morckel then served as Director of the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) from 2003 to 2007. In this cabinet-level position Col. Morckel was responsible directly to the Governor for the operations of eight divisions within the ODPS; Homeland Security, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Emergency Management Agency, Emergency Medical Services, Ohio Investigative Unit, Criminal Justice Services and Administration. ​

After six years of consulting with first responders throughout the U.S., Col. Morckel joined TDD as Sr. Vice President of Public Safety Services where he leads TDD’s Public Safety Team. This Public Safety Team comprises individuals with hundreds of years of experience in the fields of law enforcement, fire services, and emergency medical services. Col. Morckel continues to be an active member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) working with the Division of State and Provincial Police, the IACP Traffic Safety Committee, the Crash Awareness and Reduction Effort (CARE), and he is a member of the IACP Homeland Security Committee. ​
