Tom Ingold

Technology Lead (cto) at The Earth Genome

Tom Ingold has a solid background in technology and environmental sectors. Currently, they work as a Technology Lead (CTO) at The Earth Genome, where they combine data science, technology, and environmental expertise. Prior to this, Tom served as the Vice President of Engineering at Mapware from February 2021 to August 2021. Tom also held multiple roles at Planet from June 2019 to February 2021, including VP Post Sales Engineering & CS - Federal and Interim President - Federal.

From 2015 to 2021, Tom worked at Boundless Spatial, Inc. (now Planet Federal), where they served as the Chief Technology Officer, Vice President of Product and Engineering, Director of Product and Engineering, and Director of Professional Services - Federal. Their responsibilities included making technical decisions, managing budgets and teams, and engaging with high-profile customers.

Before joining Boundless Spatial, Tom worked as a Technical Account Manager at Boundless, formerly OpenGeo, in 2013. Tom also served as a Technical Representative at the Open Geospatial Consortium in 2013 and as an Associate & Career Manager at Booz Allen Hamilton from 2012 to 2013.

Earlier in their career, Tom held roles as a DCGS Systems Engineer at SAIC from 2007 to 2011 and as a Software Developer at Northrop Grumman - TASC from 2005 to 2007. Additionally, they worked as a Technical Representative at the Open Geospatial Consortium during that time.

Tom Ingold attended Harvard University from 2001 to 2005, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Natural Sciences. Tom then went on to Penn State University from 2007 to 2009, earning a Certificate in GIS (Geographic Information Systems).
