Dr. Abel Moreno is a full-tenured professor and chair of the Department of Computer Information Systems and Business Analytics. He has served as department chair since 1999. His responsibilities are largely administrative with a teaching expectation of one course per year. His teaching area is Quantitative Methods/Business Analytics. His scholarly work focuses on Management Science (DEA applications) and on Information Systems education. His work has appeared in various academic journals, such as Managerial and Decision Economics, International Journal of Production Research, and most recently in the American Journal of Management, and in the Journal of Information Systems Education.
Dr. Moreno has been a part of the East Coast Migrant Head Start Project Board of Directors since the start of 2019. He came to the United States as a Systems Engineer from Monterrey, Mexico to accept an opportunity to do graduate work at North Dakota State University. His vast experience in information technology has allowed him to develop opportunities for students to study and do internships in Mexico and Central America.
