Esperanza Gamboa

Esperanza Gamboa serves as Director of Outreach and Eligibility at MCR Health Services. Prior to this position, she worked at the Manatee County School District as a Director of the Adult and Youth Migrant Programs. Since 1998 as a supervisor of more than 36 grants funded by the federal government and private donors, she has coordinated advocacy groups, national presentations, and public relations campaigns. She also has successfully built several coalitions with faith groups, legislators, and Chambers of Commerce to develop grassroots campaigns and partnerships to improve the quality of life and the workplace safety of migrant families and minority workers in Manatee County. She won the 2005 Award of Excellence from the National Association of Farmworker Opportunity Programs.

Gamboa’s degrees include a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at National-Louis University, a Master’s Degree in Russian Language and Literature from Volgograd University in Russia and a Journalism degree from Oriente University in Cuba. She holds a K-12 professional teaching certificate in Russian and Spanish from Florida. She is currently learning Arabic.

Gamboa is a true leader full of compassion, understanding, and appreciation for everyone she works with within the community. In the last fifteen years, her passion and enthusiasm have been tirelessly dedicated to empowering minorities and helping them to have a voice in the mainstream media. Currently, she is a host of a local TV Program that raises awareness of Latino issues in Florida and she writes the editorial page in a prominent Hispanic magazine. She published her first book “Alma Desnuda” on April 2012.
