Barrett Bingley has a diverse work experience in various industries and roles. Barrett started their career in 1998 as an Officer in the Canadian Forces. Barrett then worked as a Visiting Fellow at the Indonesian Centre for Strategic and International Studies, focusing on international trade and security issues. In 2006, they joined the Department of International Trade Canada as a Policy Advisor, where they played a pivotal role in creating and implementing strategic policies. Barrett later became a Senior Policy Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Canada at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada.

In 2010, Barrett transitioned to the private sector, working as a Sales representative at Orangefield ICS TRUST. Barrett then joined Equeco Resources as an Associate Director. In 2011, they took on leadership positions at The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, where they served as a Director on the Executive Committee and Chair of the Trade and Investment Committee, respectively.

Barrett's experience in chamber organizations continued with their role as a member of the Board of Directors at SOPA - The Society of Publishers in Asia since 2018. In 2012, they joined The Economist Group, initially as a Senior Business Development Manager and later progressing to Director-level positions. Their roles at The Economist Group include Director - Media Sales and Asia Initiatives and Head of Business Development, Multilaterals and Int'l Development, APAC + N. Asia Sales Director.

Overall, Barrett Bingley has demonstrated expertise in business development, sales, policy advising, and fostering international relationships across various sectors.

Barrett Bingley completed an Executive Education program in Transition to General Management at INSEAD in 2015. Before that, in 2007, they completed the Canadian Securities Course at the Canadian Securities Institute. In 2003 and 2004, they pursued a Master's degree in International Relations at Victoria University of Wellington. Their undergraduate studies were in Strategic Studies, earning a BA (Hons) from the Royal Military College of Canada/Collège militaire royal du Canada from 1998 to 2002. Barrett also obtained a certification in the Canadian Securities Course from the Canadian Securities Institute in 2008.
