Parvathi Subbiah

Parvathi (Ale) Subbiah, PhD, is currently serving as Tech Lead at The Economist's AI Lab since September 2025. Prior to this role, Subbiah worked at WPP as Lead AI Engineer for the GenAI Product from April 2022 to September 2025, where 11 different GenAI/Agentic solutions were developed to enhance personalization and user engagement. Subbiah’s experience also includes positions such as Chief Product & Data Officer and co-founder at econscia, Head of Data Science at Eastnine, and PhD Candidate at the University of Cambridge, focusing on machine learning applications in political polarization. An accomplished contributor to data science literature, Subbiah has published articles on mediums like Towards Data Science and Analytics Vidhya, and has a strong educational background with multiple degrees from prestigious institutions including a Doctorate and Master's from the University of Cambridge.
