Victor Alvarez

Victor Alvarez has over 15 years of work experience in the food industry. Victor began their career in 2004 as a Food Service and Bakery Sales at ALIMENTEC (Pizza Mix and Spices Manufacturer). Victor then moved on to the United States Potato Board in 2005 as a Food Engineer/Scientist. In 2010, they joined Schwartz Brothers Bakery as a QA & Food Safety Manager. Most recently, they have been working as a Senior Quality Assurance Manager at The Essential Baking Company since 2017.

Victor Alvarez received their Bachelor's degree in Food Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in 2004. Victor also holds a Chemistry Laboratory Assistant Certificate from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, obtained in 1997. In 2011, Victor obtained a Food Protection Manager Certificate--ServSafe foodservice Certification from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Conference for Food Protection. Victor also holds a HACCP Manager Training Course and Certificate, accredited by the International HACCP Alliance and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), obtained in 2013. In 2014, they obtained a Risk Analysis: Assess, Manage and Communicate certificate from NSF International (Training based on the GFSI and the FSMA requirements). In 2015, Victor obtained an Implementing SQF Systems Course certificate from NSF International (NSF International is accredited to certify to the Safe Quality Food [SQF] Program), as well as an Allergen Controls certificate from WSDA (Washington State Department of Agriculture), FDA and FARRP-Workshop Certificate. In 2016, they obtained an FSMA: Aligning HARPC (Food for Humans) with Codex HACCP certificate from NSF International. Lastly, in 2017, Victor obtained a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI)--FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Food certificate from FSPCA Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance.
