Mary Gilsenan

Mary Gilsenan is an experienced professional in food safety and nutrition with a robust background in regulatory affairs and research. Currently serving as the Head of the Feed and Contaminants Unit and previously as the Head of the Evidence Management Unit at the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) since July 2012, Gilsenan has also led the Regulatory Services Department at Leatherhead Food Research from June 2009 to May 2012, focusing on various aspects of international food legislation. With experience as a Global Brand Nutrition Communication Manager and Nutrition Scientist at Unilever, Gilsenan has substantiated health claims related to cognitive performance. Academic credentials include a PhD in the Application of Probabilistic Modelling to Food Chemical Exposure Assessments from Trinity College Dublin and a BSc (Hons) in Human Nutrition from Ulster University.
