The Evergreen School
Maria Sol Flaherty is an experienced educator currently serving as the Lead Teacher at Global Idea School since September 2023 and as an Elementary School Teacher at The Evergreen School since October 2020. Maria's teaching background includes roles as a PreK Teacher at Bright Horizons, where curriculum was developed based on children's needs, and various lecturer and professor positions at institutions such as the University of Washington, Seattle University, and NYC College of Technology, focusing on course development and innovative teaching methodologies. Maria holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Western Governors University, a Ph.D. in Pharmacology, and a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Universidad Nacional de Quilmes. With a solid research background gained through post-doctoral work in cancer therapies and stem cell research at institutions like Columbia University and New York University, Maria combines academic expertise with practical teaching experience.
